View the General Ledger Report:
- On the left-side menu, click Reports, then select General Ledger.
- Choose your date range or enter a custom date range for the report.
- Click Filter Report to generate the report.
The general ledger report will display each account individually, along with every transaction posted to that account during the selected period. Each line shows the date, description, debit or credit amount, and the running balance for the account.
Understand the General Ledger Report:
The General Ledger is the foundation of your accounting system. It includes all transactions that affect each account, whether they come from invoices, bills, journal entries, or bank feeds.
Each section of the report shows:
- The account name (e.g., Bank Account, Sales, Rent Expense).
- All transactions related to that account.
- The opening balance, individual debits and credits, and ending balance.
Use the general ledger to:
- Trace errors or unexpected balances back to the original transaction.
- Understand how and when amounts were posted to specific accounts
- Support financial statement accuracy and tax reporting.
Export the General Ledger Report:
- At the top right corner of the report, click Download.
- Choose either CSV or PDF format.
- The file will download to your browser for saving, printing, or sharing with your accountant.
