How to Track Payroll Tax Liabilities and Payments

Where to Track Payroll Tax Liabilities and Payments:

Balance Sheet Report:

  1. Go to Reports > Balance Sheet.
  2. Under Liabilities, look for accounts like:
    - Payroll Liabilities.
    - Tax Payable

These accounts show the total outstanding (unpaid) payroll taxes you owe.

General Ledger Report:

  1. Go to Reports > General Ledger
  2. Filter by each payroll liability account.

This will show all journal entries and payment transactions related to payroll taxes.

Journal Entries:

  1. Navigate to Accountant > Journal Entries.
  2. Review all payroll-related entries manually.

Each payroll approval should include tax liability entries, and each payment should reflect a reduction of those liabilities.
